A new study looks at whether or not having a tattoo will cost you a job in 2015. They say that while it is more widely accepted these days, white collar jobs especially sill frown up people with visible ink. The most interesting takeaway for me was the fact that apparently only 23% of Americans have tattoos. I would have thought it was way more than that. Maybe it’s because they are so visible. So if you’re doing some hiring… first of all, you’re my new best friend… second of all, would you think twice about hiring someone with a visible tattoo? (I don’t have any, just for the record) If you have a tattoo, have you run into any problems because of it?
Starting on Friday the process of ordering Cubans will be a lot easier: US citizens traveling to Cuba will now be able to bring small amounts of cigars and rum back with them. The news comes three days after U.S. officials confirmed the release of 53 political prisoners Cuba had promised to free. Anyone up for a quick shopping trip to a tropical paradise ruled by a brutally oppressive regime?
Pope Francis had an interesting take on the Charlie Hebdo attack. He said that while free speech is a fundamental human right, you can’t insult someone’s religion and not expect there to be some sort of response. He added that killing in the name of God is never acceptable, and religion can never be used to justify violence.
A company has submitted a proposal to bring duck boat tours to Navy Pier as early as this Summer. Just in case you haven’t been keeping track, that means this summer we can expect to have sea planes and duck boats on Lake Michigan. It’s gonna be a fun Summer.
One of the Marlboro Men has died at the age of 85. His real name was Darrell Winfield. I’m guessing he wasn’t a Marlboro user if he made it all the way to 85.
