New York City began tracking about 400 people’s driving habits, including how much gas they use, when they drive, where they are, and how fast their cars go. The program is called “Drive Smart” and offers a few shekels if you’ll let them track you. The idea, according to the New York Department of Transportation, is to understand how people drive in the city, in the hopes of solving traffic problems.
