Joseph Fiennes is reportedly going to play Michael Jackson in a British made-for-TV movie. It’s about a road trip Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando took after the 9/11 attacks. They were trying to get home to LA when all of the airplanes were grounded, so they rented a car and drove. They made it all the way to Ohio. This is a made-for-TV project so it won’t be an issue, but how much of a gigantic middle finger would it be if next year there weren’t any African-American best actor nominees, but the white British guy playing Michael Jackson got one?
The widow of Fox Lake Police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz was indicted Wednesday. She’s facing felony charges of misuse of charitable funds and money-laundering, stemming from what authorities have said was her husband’s theft from a village-controlled fund before his death almost five months ago. So you’re a corrupt police officer about to get pinched, not only do you off yourself but you basically leave your wife holding the bag? Even if she knew what was going on, that’s a new level of scumbaggery.
Thursday marks the 30th Anniversary of the Challenger accident. NASA is marking the anniversary of Columbia, Challenger and Apollo 1 all that the same time, because they all happened at the end of January.
Hillary Clinton was at a totally informal townhall chat with the common folks of Iowa when a concerned citizen asked if she would consider appointing President Obama to the Supreme Court. Hilldawg said she hadn’t considered it, but she loved the idea. She did however point out that he probably has a few things planned for when he leaves office. Would he make a good second coming of William Howard Taft? (Side note: You can tell how partisan a crowd is by how much they applaud when Supreme Court talk begins. This crowd seemed pretty into SCOTUS talk.)
In an interview with Time Magazine, Megyn Kelly said that Donald Trump was a “breath of fresh air” in American politics. She also said that she asks tough questions, but is fair. That interview was conducted on Tuesday, before all hell broke loose.
A protester narrowly missed hitting Donald Trump with a tomato during a rally at the University of Iowa on Wednesday. The vegetable thrower was arrested for disorderly conduct, but Trump says he loves when there are protesters because the evil media has turn their cameras around and show the yuuuge crowd. (Side note: It didn’t look like a yuuuge crowd to me, it looked like a gym full of people. If that’s what all of his crowds are like, he may not be doing as well as he thinks.)
Donald Trump picked up a critical endorsement on Wednesday. Following in the footsteps of Sarah Palin, Jerry Falwell Jr and John Rocker… “Balloon Boy” Falcon Heene has endorsed Trump for President. No word on if he will be making any campaign appearances.
Stop me if you heard this before, but there’s a new plan to redevelop the Old Chicago Post Office. Now the real estate developer who bought the place in 2009 wants to convert it into apartments. It would be 1,500 apartments, in the post office building and a new towers on one side.
