Gabatron Morning Briefing – 9-23-15: Pope and Change

Pope Francis arrived in the United States on Tuesday afternoon. Some people were following his flight’s progress online and they noticed it was delayed and started circling over North Carolina. It turns out President Obama and VP Biden were running late and they asked them to delay their arrival.

Interesting Stat of the Day: 70 days. Scott Walker called it quits Monday, suspending his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination after only 70 days.

Brian Williams made his triumphant return to TV on Tuesday afternoon. He was anchoring coverage of the arrival of Pope Francis in Washington, DC.

A United Express flight was delayed for five hours in Lubbock, Texas, this past weekend after its pilots got into a “disagreement.” A spokesperson for the airline says there was no physical altercation, but whatever happened was enough of a problem that the police were called.

In technology news, Instagram has hit a big milestone with 400 million monthly active users.
