Gabatron Morning Briefing – 7-21-15: Hitchhiking Robot Invasion

A new lawsuit is asking for people to be paid overtime for answering work emails after hours. It comes from a Chicago cop, who was basically on the clock 24 hours a day, thanks to his smartphone.

Interesting Stat of the Day: NASA.gov was the third-highest trafficked government-run domain last week.

Speaking of space, Russian billionaire Yuri Milner has pledged to give $100 million to the effort to find intelligent life out there in the cosmos.

In technology news, A robot called HitchBOT is hitchhiking across America. It was created by a group of Canadian researchers. They left it by the side of the road with one thumb extended, hitching for a ride and the other hand clutching a bucket list of desired destinations.

People in the news, Rachael Dolezal is back. Already. She did an interview with Vanity Fair and said that she is not “African-American” but considers considers herself to be “Black.”

Plus, The Backstreet Boys and NSync are making a comeback, this time as movie starts. They are going to star in a new zombie western called Dead 7.
