The New York Stock Exchange came to an abrupt halt on Wednesday. Trading resumed a few hours later. There hasn’t been any explanation, other than to blame it on a computer glitch. This happened just hours after all United flights around the country were grounded because of a computer glitch.

Interesting Stat of the Day: 1 in 292,201,338. That’s the probability that a given lottery ticket will be the winner after October 1st.

A woman who took Time Warner Cable to court over robocalls won $230,000 because the cable company just would not stop calling her.

In technology news, Paramount has announced plans to cut down the wait between when a movie is released in theaters and when it’s available to watch on demand. The window could actually be as small as two weeks.
