Gabatron Morning Briefing – 6-18-15: Second Baby Boom

Congrats America, you’re having a baby! Well, more of you are, anyway. The number of births in the United States went up last year for the first time since 2007.

The Treasury Department may announce as early as today that a woman will be on the $10 bill. No word on who it would be quite yet, but a recent poll seemed to favor Harriet Tubman for the $20.

Interesting Stat of the Day: 8.1 million people. That’s the number of people who tuned in for the season finale of Game of Thrones on HBO Sunday night.

In technology news, the Air Force has a problem with their drone fleet. Their drone operators are overworked. The problem has become serious enough that they’ve cut the number of missions from 65 to 60 per day.

In sports, fans scrambled to get tickets for the Blackhawks rally at Soldier Field. They were sold out in just a couple of hours. They were free, but now if you’re willing to pay a little bit you can pick them up on Craigslist.

Plus, even though we live in a world where service animals have become a pervasive part of our society, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin has decided that some of them are just not welcome.
